The color palet for this specific comic was inspired by the sixties movies and James Bond in particular, because it takes place in 1960.
The famous picolo Spirou came to life when Hanco Kolk was invited by publisher Dupuis to make this one-shot album by Hanco Kolk as part of the tribute series of Franquin.
On the eve of the first floriade in Rotterdam, the Count of Rommelgem asks Spirou and Fantasio to go to Rotterdam. He has received a mysterious message from Professor Petrow who wants to defect from Russia to the West.
